I have been an activist for many different causes. I grew up during the African-American civil rights struggle. Then women had to fight for their equality and its very sad but it’s no different now. You would think in the year 2007, we would be past all this. But now the LGBT community has to fight for equality. Your civil liberties are my civil liberties… Gay people are my people and some of the stuff that has gone down in the last 5 years is just unacceptable to me.

eHarmony Sued!
(Los Angeles, California) A Northern California woman is suing the online dating service eHarmony, alleging it discriminates against gays, lesbians and bisexuals.
Linda Carlson said she tried to use the Internet site in February to meet a woman but could not based on her sexual orientation. When Carlson wrote to eHarmony to complain, the company refused to change its policy, according to the lawsuit filed on her behalf in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
The lawsuit claims that by only offering to find a compatible match for men seeking women or women seeking men, the company was violating state law barring discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.
"Such outright discrimination is hurtful and disappointing for a business open to the public in this day and age," Carlson said in a statement.
The lawsuit names Pasadena-based eHarmony.com Inc., company founder Neil Clark Warren and his wife Marylyn, the company's former vice president, as defendants. It seeks class-action status, a jury trial and unspecified damages.
The company, which conducts extensive personality profiling before introducing couples with matching values and interests, denied the allegation.
"The research that eHarmony has developed, through years of research, to match couples has been based on traits and personality patterns of successful heterosexual marriages," a company statement said. "Nothing precludes us from providing same-sex matching in the future, it's just not a service we offer now based upon the research we have conducted."
Warren is a clinical psychologist who has written several books about dating and relationships.

Angelina's new tattoo
Angelina Jolie's latest tattoo is a four-line list on her upper left arm of the geographical coordinates for the countries where her children were born. The top line is Cambodia, where Maddox was born; second is Ethiopia for Zahara's birthplace; next is Namibia, where Shiloh was born; and the last line has the coordinates for Vietnam where Pax, the latest addition to the family, was adopted. The new tat, incidentally, replaces the name of Jolie's ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton in that coveted spot.

Hawaii Sends Scientology Packing
Aha! We just found out WHY John Travolta visited Hawaii dressed in black. Apparently the church of Scientology had a huge fundraising concert planned for May 24 at the Honolulu Design Center. Lisa Marie Presley was set to perform, among others. It was a $2500 a ticket fundraiser for Narcanon drug rehab. (Scientology was not mentioned in ads) and the church hoped at least a thousand Hawaiians would attend. But the local newspaper spelled out what many Hawaiians didn't realize - that Scientology backed Narcanon. Hawaiians stayed away in droves. The event was a total bust and when few tickets sold, they flew in Scientologists from the mainland and moved the concert to a restaurant. Lisa Marie avoided the whole debacle and flew to another island. Source

Lindsay Lohan is headed back to rehab
Lindsay Lohan is on her way back into rehab, In Touch can exclusively reveal. After a wild weekend that saw her arrested for DUI early Saturday morning — and out of it in a car just two days later — she's seeking treatment.“She finally realizes it’s the right thing to do,” a close friend of the 20-year-old actress tells In Touch exclusively. “She is going willingly.”Lindsay is due to check into Promises in Malibu this afternoon (LA-time) In Touch has learned. That is the facility that Britney Spears entered after shaving her head. The Georgia Rule star’s decision contrasts starkly from her behavior just last night at Teddy’s nightclub. Insiders say Lindsay was partying as hard as ever at a 944 Magazine party and kept insisting she didn’t care about the consequences of her arrest when cocaine was discovered in her wrecked Mercedes convertible. She was later photographed seeming to be out of it in the front passenger seat of a car being driven by her friend, disc jockey Samantha Ronson. This will be Lindsay’s second spell in rehab this year. She completed a 30-day course in the Wonderland rehab facility in Los Angeles on February 16. Source

Manson told BBC Radio 1: "I met Justin Timberlake and I liked him. I met his mother too. He brings her on tour with him, I guess as some sort of prop. "When we met I had just watched this sex documentary, unfortunately for his mother, and the first thing I said to her was 'Did you know that a woman has three holes between their legs?' She was fascinated."Manson also revealed he has "a fascination with Justin Timberlake", and he carries a picture of the former *NSYNC star with him wherever he goes.

R.I.P. Charles Nelson Reilly
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Charles Nelson Reilly, the Tony Award winner who later became known for his ribald appearances on the "Tonight Show" and various game shows, has died. He was 76. Reilly died Sunday in Los Angeles of complications from pneumonia, his partner, Patrick Hughes, told the New York Times. Reilly began his career in New York City, taking acting classes at a studio with Steve McQueen, Geraldine Page and Hal Holbrook. In 1962, he appeared on Broadway as Bud Frump in the original Broadway production of "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying." The role won Reilly a Tony Award. He was nominated for a Tony again for playing Cornelius in "Hello, Dolly!" In 1997 he received another nomination for directing Julie Harris and Charles Durning in a revival of "The Gin Game." After moving to Hollywood in 1960s he appeared as the nervous Claymore Gregg on TV's "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" and as a featured guest on "The Dean Martin Show."He gained fame by becoming what he described as a "game-show fixture" in the 1970s and '80s. He was a regular on programs like "Match Game" and "Hollywood Squares," often wearing giant glasses and colorful suits with ascots. His larger-than-life persona and affinity for double-entendres also landed him on the "Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson more than 95 times. Reilly ruefully admitted his wild game-show appearances adversely affected his acting career. "You can't do anything else once you do game shows," he told The Advocate, the national gay magazine, in 2001. "You have no career." His final work was an autobiographical one-man show, "Save It for the Stage: The Life of Reilly," about his family life growing up in the Bronx. The title grew out of the fact that when he would act out as a child, his mother would often admonish him to "save it for the stage." The stage show was made into the 2006 feature film called "The Life of Reilly." Reilly's openly gay television persona was ahead of its time, and sometimes stood in his way. He recalled a network executive telling him, "They don't let queers on television." Hughes, his only immediate survivor, said Reilly had been ill for more than a year. No memorial plans had been announced.

Lindsay Lohan crashes car, cops find coke.
BEVERLY HILLS, California (AP) -- Lindsay Lohan was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Saturday after her convertible struck a curb, and investigators found what they suspect is cocaine at the scene, police said. Lohan, 20, and two other people were in her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 when it crashed on Sunset Boulevard around 5:30 a.m., Sgt. Mike Foxen said. It appeared Lohan was speeding, Lt. Mitch McCann said at an afternoon news conference. Officers at the scene found a "usable amount" of a drug tentatively identified as cocaine, McCann said. He declined to say where the drug was found other than to say Lohan was not carrying it. Lohan, who spent time at a rehabilitation center earlier this year, was driven in another car to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, McCann said. The two other people in her car were not hurt.Officers received a 911 call about the accident and arrested Lohan at the hospital for investigation of misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, McCann said. She was released from custody because she was admitted to the hospital, police said. Lohan will have to appear in court to answer the citation, first reported on the Web site of X17 Inc., a celebrity photo agency. Lohan publicist Leslie Sloane Zelnik did not immediately return an e-mail requesting comment. Lohan said in January that she had checked into a rehabilitation center for substance abuse treatment. Her publicist confirmed in December that the actress was attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Lohan told Allure magazine during an interview for its May issue that she decided to enter the secluded Wonderland Center at the suggestion of her therapist. "It's so weird that I went to rehab. I always said I would die before I went to rehab," Lohan told the publication.
