Gay-bash victim takes aim at CBS
Former CBS News producer Dick Jefferson slapped the company with a $10 million lawsuit yesterday in Manhattan Supreme Court, claiming anti-gay bias.Jefferson first made unwelcome headlines last year when he and a CBS colleague were brutally gay-bashed on the island of St. Maarten while on vacation. But Jefferson says he feels like he was "attacked again" when he went back to work, allegedly because the company was uncomfortable with his efforts to publicize the crime. "I think [CBS] decided they wanted all publicity directed toward Katie" Couric, Jefferson told me yesterday. "There was an underlying, unconscious bias that 'we just don't want this talked about.'" CBS terminated the 18-year veteran with a year left on his contract. He says they told him he was "too tough." CBS fired back in a statement: "This complaint reveals a stunningly selective recall of the 'facts,' both real and imagined, including omission of the extraordinary lengths to which CBS News ... went to airlift him to safety and better medical treatment at a cost of tens of thousands of dollars paid for by the Company." World's Ugliest Dog

PETALUMA, Calif. (AP) - Elwood, a 2-year-old Chinese Crested and Chihuahua mix, was crowned the world's ugliest dog Friday, a distinction that delighted the New Jersey mutt's owners. Elwood, dark colored and hairless—save for a mohawk-like puff of white fur on his head—is often referred to as "Yoda," or "ET," for his resemblance to those famous science fiction characters. "I think he's the cutest thing that ever lived," said Elwood's owner, Karen Quigley, a resident of Sewell, New Jersey. Quigley brought Elwood out to compete for the second year at the annual ugly dog contest at the Marin-Sonoma County Fair. Elwood placed second last year. Most of the competing canines were also Chinese Crested, a breed that features a mohawk, bug eyes and a long, wagging tongue. Quigley said she rescued Elwood two years ago. "The breeder was going to euthanize him because she thought he was too ugly to sell," said Quigley. "So ha ha, now Elwood's all over the Internet and people love him and adore him." Beyond the regal title of ugliest dog, Elwood also earned a $1,000 reward for his owner.

Is anyone shocked?
Eddie Murphy is definitely the daddy of Scary Spice's 2-month-old baby, according to a DNA test that the singer just received, and a source who has seen the actual test tells TMZ that it "leaves no doubt" that Eddie's the dad.A rep for Scary -- aka Melanie Brown -- confirms that her client has received the test results and that they point to Murphy as the father of Angel Iris Murphy Brown. Scary had preemptively given the baby the name even before the test. As for the test, we're told that the results are "irrefutable" and that, as with most DNA tests, there is a far greater than 99% probability that Murphy's the dad. Wal-Mart shuns gay groups
"We are not currently planning corporate-level contributions to GLBT groups," said Mona Williams, the company's senior vice president of corporate communications. Individual stores can still donate to gay groups. By way of explanation, Ms. Williams cited a policy adopted last fall saying that Wal-Mart would not make corporate contributions "to support or oppose highly controversial issues" unless they directly relate to the company's ability to serve its customers. Janet Charleton's Hollywood Whodunit
This hot hunk of an actor is desperate to have a career. He's young, pretty, and stupid, and the only decent acting job he ever got was because he slept with the TV series creator. The show made him rather famous, but that's over and now his career is faltering. He's getting ready to make the ultimate sacrifice of switching teams once again. He's got his eye on a powerful and connected member of Hollywood's gay mafia who's known for having lavish parties and helping the cute young guys that he sleeps with. Source

John Travolta blames pills for school shootings
JOHN Travolta blames Virginia Tech, Columbine and all the other tragic school shootings not on the psychos who committed the heinous acts - but on psychiatric drugs. "I still think that if you analyze most of the school shootings, it is not gun control. It is [psychotropic] drugs at the bottom of it," Travolta told W. But the "Hairspray" film star won't be jumping on couches over the issue or attacking Matt Lauer as his fellow Scientologist, Tom Cruise, did last year: "I don't disagree with anything Tom says. How would I have presented it? Maybe differently than how he did, but it doesn't matter." SourceBlind Item

Jackie Warner...DUI
Jackie Warner, reality TV's hottest lesbian, isn't exactly living the healthy lifestyle she promotes on her Bravo series "Work Out." Not only was she busted for DUI, but she was hauled into court for allegedly beating up and knifing her girlfriend. According to The National Enquirer Jackie was arrested last October in Hollywood for driving while intoxicated and without a license. She is still in a court ordered alcohol abuse program but that doesn't stop her from boozing it up at West Hollywood gay clubs. Her ex-lover Mary Aloe claims Jackie put her in the hospital twice and has a restraining order against her. On Memorial day Jackie reportedly got stumbling drunk at The Abbey and was seen screaming at a female companion in a nearby parking lot. So much for clean living. Bob Barker backs Rosie O'Donnell for 'The Price is Right'
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Bob Barker endorsed his friend Rosie O'Donnell as a possible successor on "The Price Is Right," although the newly retired host isn't sure CBS wants a woman to take over the game show. "I believe they're going to have a meeting with Rosie," Barker said backstage Friday night at the Daytime Emmy Awards, where he won his 19th trophy."She knows the show," he said. "There's no doubt in my mind she could do the show. Now, whether they want a lady host, I don't know. I've never heard that discussed. As far as I know, they've only auditioned men."Barker said his friendship with O'Donnell goes back several years, when she had him as a guest on her old daytime talk show. "She told me she loved 'The Price Is Right' and wanted to host it one day," he recalled. Among those mentioned as possible replacement hosts have been Todd Newton of the E! network, Mark Steines of "Entertainment Tonight," George Hamilton and John O'Hurley. Barker retired last week at age 83 after 35 years of giving away vacations and cars on the hit CBS game show. But he said he may be back with some specials featuring vintage clips and guests. "If it works out, I'd like to do that," he said. SourceEllen Degeneres wins again.
Ellen Degeneres won Best Talk Show Host and Best Talk Show AGAIN. She beat out "The View" in both categories. Many thought because of Rosie O'Donnell the show would finally win. It wasn't so. Ellen did say that she felt Rosie deserved to win. She also said that Bob Barker was a quitter. Haha

Freddie Mercury's piano for sale
My colleague and I are in the property business and we bought a piano from the Late Freddie Mercury's Family. The piano has been kept for a long time in a house in the Feltham Area. Apparently Freddie used to play on this when he began touring. I have verification by way of a provenance letter from Freddie's mother clearly stating the history.Wood colour with a seat. It does need tuning however I think. Freddie Mercury (born Farrokh Bulsara; 5 September 1946 – 24 November 1991) was a British rock musician and songwriter, best known as the lead singer of the rock band Queen. He is remembered for his vocal abilities and charisma as a live performer. Is Anne Heche switching back to girls?
IT seems Anne Heche's messy divorce from Coleman Laffoon is driving her to seek the company of women. On Saturday night, Heche was spotted "getting very cozy" with club promoter Voula Duval at the Gramercy Park Hotel's Rose Bar. Then, Sunday night, Heche was spotted flirting with "Six Degrees" star Shiri Appleby, 28, at a Tony Awards after-party at Bryant Park Hotel. Some gay fans of the original “Hairspray” movie want to leave the remake in the can. John Travolta is starring in an update of the 1988 camp classic which is due to come out next month, and some gay leaders are calling for a boycott of the film because Travolta’s religion has a tough stand on homosexuality. “Travolta, a prominent Scientologist, has no business reprising an iconic gay role, given his [religion’s] stance on gay issues,” notes Kevin Naff, managing editor of the gay-oriented Washington Blade. “It’s well known that Scientology rejects gays and lesbians as members and even operates reparative therapy clinics to ‘cure’ homosexuality.” Travolta plays mom Edna Turnblad in the flick — a role originally played by drag queen Divine. Laments Naff: “Divine is spinning in her grave.” SourceClick HERE to return to the main page.

Looks like Whoopi is in on The View
"As far as everyone at ABC is concerned, she has the job,” a network insider confirms to Star. “They have been meeting with Kathy Griffin, Rosanne Barr, Ricki Lake and Gayle King." While Kathy was a strong contender, Whoopi has won everyone over.”"Everyone is acting like Whoopi already has the gig," the show insider adds."Whoopi has a radio show, she lives in NYC and she is an institution. "But it is 99 percent Whoopi at this point. They will have a few guest hosts throughout the summer but the executives and producers at The View are set on Ms. Goldberg to start in the fall." There is trouble brewing in Claynation
June 11, 2007 -- THERE'S a civil war among the Claymates in Claynation. Clay Aiken's rabid fans - who call themselves "Claymates" and say they live in "Claynation" - are at odds with each other over their former Idol. An insider said, "The war is between the batty members that are still clinging to their heterosexual fantasies of him and others that don't harbor such illusions." Aiken's sexuality has been a subject of speculation ever since several men came out publicly and said they'd met him in gay chat rooms and had relations with him. Aiken has always refused to discuss his inclinations. The Claymates' clash got so bad that the Official Fan Club at clayonline.com completely suspended its message board and noted, "Due to reports of extensive unrest and disrespect amongst members that has been carrying on for several weeks, the Official Fan Club Message Board will be shut down until further notice. Please note that should tensions continue on other areas of the fan club, severe consequences may occur." Let's hope they can get it back up soon! SourceBlind Item
